What is HCG and How Does the Diet Work?
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a Bio-Identical Hormone/polypeptide protein that exists in every tissue of the human body in tiny amounts and is produced in large quantities during pregnancy. It allows your body to “consume” your abnormal fat for energy. Here is a simple explanation:
Scientific Fact: When you introduce a low-calorie diet to your body, it goes into starvation survival mode, desperately holds onto the fuel-rich fat, and breaks down your leaner muscles. The Scientific Result: You become tired, hungry, irritable, and finally you give up on the diet. You are not to blame—your body’s survival mechanism overpowers your will power.

Following a traditional 500 Calorie-a-day diet will leave you fatigued and irritable, and within a few days you will start to retain water due to being “protein deficient”. Plateaus are normal with this program. It usually presents in a stair step fashion with a consistent large drop in weight followed by a slight plateau, or a slower loss for a few days. If you hit a plateau make sure that you are not constipated as that will stop or slow down your weight loss. If you are not constipated and are on a true plateau then you have probably hit a benchmark weight that you were at for many months or years before. When this happens, your body can get stubborn and stop losing weight. Don’t worry, it WILL resolve within a matter of days and you will continue to lose. Meanwhile, here’s a quick simple tip: If a plateau does occur, one way to break it is to have an “apple day”. On your apple day you will drink a minimum of one ounce per body pound of water during the day and eat slices of apple throughout the day.(maximum of 6 apples) Also make sure to take some Aloe Lax. That night have a small lean steak and a tomato. (If you don't like steak you can have a chicken breast.) The “apple day” usually resolves the plateau and weight loss occurs the next morning.
Your body will continue to reshape itself even during a plateau and you will continue to lose inches.
